It has been a long wait, yet the result further underlines United's resurgence among the Premier League's top sides.

United currently hold fourth place and remain masters of their own Champions League fate regardless of other results this weekend. Their position could become even safer if England earns a fifth Champions League berth through UEFA coefficient rankings. Having missed out on meaningful Champions League involvement in 2023–24 after a group-stage exit, Old Trafford has been longing for European nights — and they now appear within reach once again.

The managerial transition from Ruben Amorim to Carrick has brought subtle but impactful adjustments. Considering Carrick has only been in charge since Jan. 13, the immediate influence of his staff is notable, helping explain why United have won all four matches under his leadership.

Tottenham's task became harder when Cristian Romero was sent off in the 29th minute, yet United were already asserting control. They dominated proceedings, firing 10 shots on target while restricting Spurs to just a single effort on Senne Lammens' goal, showcasing authority at both ends of the pitch.

Winning streaks make daily work smoother, but adversity will ultimately define his tenure. For now, though, United's attack looks potent enough to delay that challenge. They have not strung together five straight wins since February 2024, and next week's clash with West Ham United offers the opportunity to reach that mark again.
