Just wanted to share a little update because I've been posting here on and off since I got hurt last spring and I know a few of you gave me some solid advice. I finally stopped trying to handle everything myself after my claim got dragged into a hearing and I was just losing sleep every night worrying about it. A buddy from my old job gave me a name and said to at least go talk to someone, so I made an appointment and honestly it was such a relief to just lay everything out and have someone actually explain what was happening instead of me trying to decipher these letters from the insurance company on my own. I ended up meeting with Edward Seplavy New Paltz NY based firm and he went through my whole file page by page and pointed out a bunch of stuff the adjuster had been doing that I never would've caught on my own. I'm not the type to run to a lawyer for everything but man, trying to navigate this system while you're injured and not getting paid is just brutal. Anyway, I signed on with them and already feel like a weight is lifted just knowing someone else is handling the calls and paperwork. If anyone else is on the fence about getting representation, I'd say at least do a consult and see how you feel after. It made a huge difference for me.
